Our History

Our congregation started as a small group of Christ-centered people in March of 2007. Since we were homeless, a dialogue was started between the Episcopal Diocese in Salt Lake City and the Rocky Mountain Conference Head Quarters of the United Methodist Church in Denver Colorado. Due to the coming together of minds we were welcomed with open arms by the Reverend Susan Wiltsey and St. Jude's Episcopal congregation here in Cedar City. The first worship service was held on Easter morning at 8:30 am. This opening service was attended by both the United Methodist and Episcopal congregations. At present we are sharing facilities at the corner of Harding Ave. and 200 west. This Sanctuary has a record of sharing in the Christian spirit. The facility was built in the late 80's by the Roman Catholic Diocese. St. Jude's Episcopal congregation was a guest at that time. When Christ the King Catholic Church built a new facility, St. Jude's was able to attain the building. Both congregations are ecumenical oriented and on occasions we are sharing combined worship service. If you would like to participate in the growth or receive more information on any other opportunities at our small but loving congregation call 435-590-5018 or request info@cbumc.com
